ALMOST THERE BUT NEVER THERE
A young medical doctor came to see me one Sunday
because of a mystery connected to his professional
examinations.
He was the son of a well-known wizard back in Africa,
and he felt his problem was connected to that.
The first time he was to sit for the examination, he got
lost. By the time he found the examination hall it was too
late for him to be allowed in. He had to wait for six
months to reapply to take the exam.
The next time he was to sit for the examination, he made
sure he went to the examination center days before the
examination. Assured that he now knew the location, he
left home on the day of the examination, confident that
there would be no problem. Unfortunately for this brother,
the devil had other plans for him. He got on the wrong
train. By the time he realized it and switched trains, the
examination was over.
He registered to take the test for the third time after
another six months and headed for the exam location
bright and early. Everything went well that day until his
train suddenly came to a grinding stop. After a while the
engineer announced that emergency repairs were taking
place on the tracks ahead of them. He could not get out
because the train was underground. The brother thought
the delay would be short, but the train was delayed for
over forty-five minutes. By the time he got to the exam
hall he was not allowed to come in. He left the place in
tears.
He was operating under a serious curse of what can be
called “Almost There, but Never There.” His father
offended some people and they retaliated by placing a
curse of non-achievement on his son.
We broke the yoke by the power of the Holy Spirit and I
am happy to report that he now practices medicine, as
God originally intended for him.
